Course Outline

Join us for a highly progressive hands-on workshop that will help you meet the demands of today’s non-surgical periodontal therapy. With the aid of a “live camera” Cheri will guide participants as they practice in a simulated ultrasonic work environment on manikins. Attention will be given to insert evaluation, selection/adaptation, including the new needle-free anesthetic alternative for pain management Oraqix; ultrasonic insert adaptation in the most anatomically challenging situations (review root anatomy).

Upon completion of this course the participant will be able to:

  1. Select the appropriate inserts and strategically sequence ultrasonic instrumentation in the most safe and effective manner.
  2. Demonstrate ultrasonic insert adaptation in the most anatomically challenging situations (review root anatomy).
  3. Position a variety of evacuation devices to aid in the reduction of aerosols and enhance operator visibility.
  4. Provide ultimate client comfort with ultrasonic technology.
  5. Demonstrate the application of non-injectable anesthetic as it applies to periodontal debridement.
