Course Outline
On life-like dentoform models, participants will perform surgical procedures without the stresses of patient feedback!! Continuous instructor feedback is given as well as simple 'tricks' will be discussed. Principles and techniques from discussion are realistically implemented in this workshop setting.
A surgical extraction is done followed by socket preservation with bone graft material. Multiple extractions, alveoplasty, and various suturing techniques will be performed. A partial bony impaction is performed complete with flap reflection and bone removal . This course is designed to give you real world experience in the comfort of a lab environment.
Biography
Dr Toby Bellamy graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1998. He then practiced general dentistry for 3 years in Vancouver, BC. In 2001 he moved to Washington DC to complete a 4 year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. After completing his training he moved back to the Vancouver area where he is a partner in a group practice. Most of Dr Bellamy's practice involves dentoalveolar, implant, and trauma surgery. He is on staff at 3 hospitals for which he provides trauma coverage.
Dr Bellamy has spoken nationally and internationally in both oral surgery and implant related procedures aimed at the general practitioner.
