Course Outline
Conventional dental techniques used to restore teeth are rapidly being replaced by their digital counterparts. The same is true of implant supported restorations. Digital technology is now used from the planning of implant surgery, to the surgical placement of dental implants as well as their restoration.
The attendee will learn about the digital aspects of implant dentistry in the following areas:
I. CT Imaging
II. CT guided surgery
III. CAD/CAM in Implant Dentistry
IV. Intraoral scanning and the implant supported restoration
Biography
Dr. Baumgarten received his dental degree, as well as Certificates in Periodontal Prosthetics and Periodontics, from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine. He is affiliated with the Academy of Osseointegration, the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics, the Philadelphia County Dental Society, the Philadelphia Society of Periodontology, the American Academy of Periodontology and Omicron Kappa Upsilon. Dr. Baumgarten is on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Implant and Reconstructive Dentistry and the The Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry. He is a Clinical Professor with the Department of Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Baumgarten maintains a private practice in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
