Held annually, the last weekend of October, the Thompson Okanagan Dental Society hosts 3 days of continuing dental education, exhibits and the Annual General Meeting for the society. The meeting is hosted by the Grand Okanagan Lakefront Resort and Conference Centre, Kelowna, British Columbia. We are pleased to offer something for the entire dental team with a variety of speakers and scientific programs.

College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia Continuing Education Credits-Pre-Approval
The College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia has reviewed or is in the process of reviewing the courses being presented. Please review the outline of each course to determine if it has met with the criteria determined by the CDSBC for credit pre-approval. The CDSBC also reminds dentists and certified dental assistants to be aware of limits allowed for certain subjects.
The CDSBC Guidelines for Mandatory Continuing Education state in section 3 Categories and Credits:
“Subject matter being dental practice management to a maximum per cycle. Hour-for-hour credit: Dentists: maximum of 30 credits per cycle; Certified dental assistants: maximum of 18 credits per cycle”.
Dental practice management also encompasses dental computer/data programs, patient management/motivation, and dental records management.
The Thompson Okanagan Dental Society
Since 1978, the non-profit Thompson Okanagan Dental Society (TODS), has provided dental professionals with quality dental continuing education and supported the future of the profession with bursarys and scholarships. Since 2005, the society has hosted an annual silent auction raising thousands of dollars to support important charities such as the Kelowna Gospel Mission Dental Clinic, BC Dental Association's Save a Smile Foundation and the Okanagan College Certified Dental Assisting Program.
TODS represents the geographical region east to Revelstoke, west to Ashcroft, south to Osoyoos and north to Sicamous, in the southern interior of British Columbia, Canada.
The purpose of the Society is to promote a high standard in the practice of dentistry, encourage the improvement of the health of the public, promote the art and science of dentistry and to hold educational meetings.
